Iran is planning to impose a condition that the two countries must pay compensation in order to allow American and Israeli ships to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
In response, U.S. President Trump has shared a post on his Truth account...
"I see that representatives of the Islamic Republic of Iran are demanding compensation for the damage they suffered during the past five months of military conflict (this war was started precisely to ensure that they do not have nuclear weapons!).

But not a single word about this was spoken in our talks or meetings!
Nevertheless, it is an interesting idea. Because now I too am demanding compensation from Iran.
Starting under the guidance of General Soleimani, I am demanding this compensation for the thousands of people and soldiers killed and severely injured by Iran’s roadside bombs and various conflicts, including the families of those who died in the USS Cole warship attack.
In addition, compensation should be paid to the families of the hundreds and thousands of innocent protesters Iran has killed over the past 50 years, apart from the 52,000 people killed in the past five months.
I have instructed my representatives to raise this demand very forcefully in any and all future negotiations."
