Iran must pay compensation to the United States, said U.S. President Donald Trump.
In June, Iran and the United States signed a temporary ceasefire agreement on ending the war in West Asia. However, both countries have been carrying out attacks in violation of the agreement. On the other hand, Iran and the United States are also making efforts to hold talks through mediators.
Recently, Mohammad Bahar Zolghadar, commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, said, “The United States should not threaten Iran again. The war with Iran and with Iran’s allies in the West Asian region must be brought to a permanent end.
Iran has reportedly put forward demands to the United States such as: the withdrawal of American forces from this region; compensation from the United States for war-related damages; lifting of economic sanctions; and unconditional removal of the freeze on Iranian assets.
It had also been stated on Iran’s behalf that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened only if the United States agreed to Iran’s conditions.
In this situation, U.S. President Donald Trump has said in a social media post that he will demand compensation from Iran.
In it, “I see representatives of the Iranian government now demanding compensation for the damage they suffered in the past five months of military conflict, which began with the position that they should not have nuclear weapons. They never mentioned this in any of the negotiations they held with us. But it is an interesting idea.
Because I am now also demanding compensation from Iran for those killed and severely injured in the attacks carried out by Iran under the leadership of military commander General Soleimani.
Likewise, compensation should be paid to the families of the hundreds of thousands of innocent protesters Iran has killed over the past 50 years. The 52,000 people killed in the past 5 months should not be left out of this either.
I have instructed American representatives to firmly raise these demands in all future negotiations,” he said.
