At the Victory Tamil Nadu Investors Conference held in Chennai, 97 memorandums of understanding were signed in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, for investments worth Rs. 67,452 crore and the creation of 1,06,998 jobs.

At the Victory Tamil Nadu Investors Conference held today (Aug. 13) in Chennai in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, 97 memorandums of understanding were signed on behalf of the Department of Industries, Investment Promotion and Commerce, for investments worth Rs. 67,452 crore and the creation of 1,06,998 jobs.
It is noteworthy that within the first 100 days of this government taking office, industrial investments worth more than Rs. 1 lakh crore have been attracted.
Furthermore, in the fields of trade, commerce, bilateral investments and sister-city cooperation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, skill development training and technology transfer in the semiconductor sector, Tamil Nadu has entered into 7 institutional memorandums of understanding with companies and organizations from Kazakhstan, New Zealand, and Russia.
Chief Minister Vijay inaugurated completed project works worth a total of Rs. 777.74 crore, including the opening of the facility for commercial production of tissue paper at Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Limited in Mondipatti, Tiruchirappalli district, at a cost of Rs. 350 crore; the AeroHub complex at Vallam Vadagal in Kanchipuram district, developed by the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation at a cost of Rs. 250 crore; 11 new buildings in the SIPCOT industrial park at a cost of Rs. 122.08 crore; and 2 new buildings on behalf of Tamil Nadu Industrial Housing Private Limited at a cost of Rs. 55.66 crore.
Furthermore, he laid the foundation stone for 8 projects involving an investment of Rs. 4,476 crore and creating employment for 5,074 people.
He then inaugurated 5 projects involving an investment of Rs. 2,676 crore and generating 1,550 jobs.
Following that, he also issued appointment orders to 20 people selected for various positions in 9 companies.
Investments of over Rs. 1 lakh crore in 100 days:
Through the Memoranda of Understanding signed before this conference and those signed at today’s “Victory Tamil Nadu Investors’ Conference,” investments exceeding ₹1 lakh crore (₹1,02,514 crore) have been attracted within 100 days of assuming office. This has assured employment opportunities for 1,21,788 people.
