India’s Vindyarani Devi impressed by winning the bronze medal in the weightlifting event at the Commonwealth Games.
With this, India has won 6 medals. In weightlifting alone, 5 medals have been won.
The Commonwealth Games are being held in Glasgow, Scotland. In the women’s 58 kg category, India’s Vindyarani Devi took part in the weightlifting competition.
Vindyarani, who delivered an excellent performance in the event, won the bronze medal. Anne Sophie Dashero of Canada won the silver medal, while Rakiyaadu of Nigeria won the gold medal.
With the bronze medal won by 27-year-old Vindhyarani from Manipur, India’s medal tally in the Commonwealth Games has risen to 6.
Mirabai Chanu, Rishikanta Singh, Raja Muthupandi, Gyaneswari Yadav, and Vindhyarani Devi have won medals in weightlifting, while Jandu Kumar has won a medal in para weightlifting.
