ICC has today announced the nominees for the Women’s Player of the Month award for July.
Every month, the ICC honors the players who perform exceptionally well by presenting them with awards. Accordingly, the contenders for the Women’s Player of the Month award for July are West Indies all-rounder Hayley Matthews, Sri Lanka’s Harshitha Samarawickrama, and England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt.
Hayley Matthews, who played brilliantly in the ODI series against Ireland, scored 265 runs and impressed everyone. This included two centuries. Not only with the bat, but also with the ball, she performed excellently and took wickets. She took 7 wickets in that series.
Harshitha Samarawickrama played a key role as the Sri Lanka team won the 3-match ODI series against Pakistan 2-1. She scored 173 runs in that series. In the second match, she smashed a century and impressed everyone.
England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt played very well in the T20 World Cup series. She performed brilliantly under pressure and scored 75 runs in the semifinal against South Africa. Nat Sciver-Brunt also produced an excellent performance in the final against Australia, scoring 58 runs.
It remains to be seen which of these three—Hayley Matthews, Harshitha Samarawickrama, and Nat Sciver-Brunt—will win the Women’s Player of the Month award for July.
