Union Minister Nitin Gadkari weighed 135 kg before the coronavirus pandemic. But now his weight has come down to 89 kg. In an interview given to Bollywood director Farah Khan’s YouTube channel, Nitin Gadkari shared his secret about how he reduced his body weight so much.
In his interview, he said, ''Even if I had to work late into the night, I would wake up at 7 in the morning. Despite a heavy workload, I have made it a habit to exercise for 2.30 hours every morning.
Exercise is no longer just something I do occasionally; it has now become an important part of my daily routine. My earlier lifestyle was unplanned and undisciplined. After the coronavirus pandemic, there was a significant change in my approach to health.

I see weight loss not merely as a matter of changing appearance, but as a change in my overall approach to health.
After losing close friends during the coronavirus period, the pandemic became a turning point in his life. At one point, my body weight increased to around 135 kilograms. At present, the weight is around 89 kilograms.
I see this change as part of a post-pandemic lifestyle shift. As far as I’m concerned, exercise has now become something unavoidable. This change was not brought about solely by the desire to lose weight.
Rather, after the COVID pandemic and the personal losses I experienced during that period, my priorities changed,'' he said.

Does it suit everyone?
When speaking to fitness experts about this, they said that eating habits, sleep, stress, health problems, medications, and overall calorie intake can all affect body weight. Therefore, Gadkari’s personal routine should not be considered a general method for losing 46 kilograms. Exercising for two and a half hours every day may not be suitable or necessary for everyone.
Especially for those with health problems or those who have only just started exercising, this does not apply. Those trying to lose a significant amount of body weight should consult a specialist about an appropriate exercise plan and gradually increase their physical activity. The amount of exercise needed to lose body weight varies from person to person,'' they said.
