Yemen’s Houthi rebels carried out an attack on Saudi Aramco’s crude oil refinery on Sunday. As a result, tensions have risen in West Asia.
The Houthi rebels control large parts of Yemen, including Sana’a. They are backed by Iran. Saudi Arabia and other West Asian countries support armed groups that operate against the Houthi rebels.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia recently carried out an attack on the airport in Sana’a. Similarly, Saudi Arabia also launched drone attacks in the Hajjah and Saada regions.
Following this incident, Houthi rebels have been carrying out retaliatory attacks on that country. Accordingly, Houthi rebels launched a drone attack on an Aramco crude oil refinery in the Jazan region of Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy said there were no casualties and that a fire broke out at the plant. However, it also noted that the fire was extinguished immediately.
Meanwhile, the Yemeni government has announced that Houthi rebels carried out an attack on Sunday by launching missiles and drones at the port of Mocha, the main port in the Red Sea. However, the Houthi rebel forces have not confirmed this.
