Chennai: Work is under way to shift the Chief Minister’s office, which has a long-standing legacy, to the Namakkal Kavignar Maligai in the Chennai Secretariat.

The TVK, which won the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election, formed the government on May 10. Since then, various administrative and official changes have been made. In that context, reports have emerged that the Chief Minister’s office in the Secretariat is now set to be relocated.

There are 2 buildings in the Secretariat complex. The Chief Minister’s and Ministers’ offices are located on the 3 floors in the main historic Fort St. George. The other building is the 10-storey Namakkal Kavignar Maligai. The offices of the department secretaries are functioning there.

Meanwhile, due to space constraints at Fort St. George, a lack of parking facilities, and restrictions on constructing new buildings, the government has planned to shift the Chief Minister’s office to Namakkal Kavignar Maligai.

In addition, it is said that Vijay was also advised astrologically to change the Chief Minister’s office. Accordingly, information has emerged that the Chief Minister’s office will be shifted to the 10th floor of Namakkal Kavignar Maligai.
