Employment, sports achievements: NDA alliance consultation under the Prime Minister's leadership

At the National Democratic Alliance MPs’ meeting held on Tuesday under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, discussions were held on measures to increase the creation of millions of job opportunities for the country’s youth, as well as on India’s achievements in international sporting competitions.

The meeting was held after the BJP suffered defeat in the Bankipur Assembly constituency by-election in Bihar, which had been a stronghold of the party, at the hands of Jan Suraaj Party leader Prashant Kishor.

Following BJP national leader Nitin Nabin becoming a Rajya Sabha MP, he had resigned from the Bankipur MLA post. As a result, a by-election was recently held in the vacant Bankipur seat, and the results were announced last Monday. In it, Prashant Kishor defeated the BJP candidate and won.

In this context, at the ‘Mangal Milan’ gathering, BJP national president Nitin Nabin was seated next to Prime Minister Modi. Union ministers Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, S. Jaishankar, and others participated. After the meeting, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari said that Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya spoke about the achievements of his department with illustrative presentations.

More employment than under Congress rule: “As a result of the new sports policy adopted by the Modi government in 2014, India has been achieving various successes in international sporting events such as the Olympics, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games; avenues for job creation have been increased. Because of this, employment opportunities for young people are increasing day by day,” Minister Mandaviya said.

During the United Progressive Alliance government from 2004 to 2014, employment was provided to only 2.89 crore young people. At the same time, he noted that from 2014 to 2026, a total of 17.1 crore young people have been given employment.

In addition, various social welfare schemes being implemented by the Central Government were also explained through a presentation,” Manoj Tiwari said.

MPs from alliance parties including the Janata Dal (United), Janata Dal (Secular), Nationalist Congress Party, Shiv Sena, and Indian National Citizens’ Party (NCPi) participated.

It is noteworthy that 20 disgruntled MPs who recently broke away from the Trinamool Congress joined the little-known NCPi party and also confirmed their support for the BJP alliance.
