New Delhi: Don’t worry about anything; I am with you, Prime Minister Modi told the MPs from opposition parties who support the BJP.
At the breakfast reception hosted by Prime Minister Modi in Delhi yesterday, 45 MPs took part, including disgruntled MPs from the Trinamool Congress, 7 MPs who broke away from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav) party, 20 MPs from the National People’s Party (NPP), and 2 MPs from the Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction).
At this event, Prime Minister Modi said: My thanks to those of you who support the BJP. You should study, learn, and understand the history of Parliament and act accordingly. You should actively participate in parliamentary debates. Parliament is the supreme temple of democracy. I have come to know that due to the commotion taking place in Parliament, new MPs are not getting an opportunity to speak in the House.
This is an injustice being done to you. Parliamentary proceedings should take place smoothly. The proceedings taking place in Parliament recently are causing me concern. There is a great deal of historical information in Parliament. It should be read and used to prepare for debates. MPs should work for the development of the states they represent. Only if the states progress will the country progress.
The National Democratic Alliance is like a family. We work together with the alliance parties. Every individual is respected. Everyone will be given an opportunity. I am not only from a particular party in the National Democratic Alliance, but I am also in coordination with all the Members of Parliament. I will stand in support of every Member of Parliament in the alliance. No one needs to worry about anything. He said this.
Prime Minister Modi, who earlier met and spoke with the disgruntled MPs of the Trinamool Congress party and also the six Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) MPs who recently joined Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena, assured them, “I am with you. Do not worry about anything.”
