All India Majlis party leader Asaduddin Owaisi has said that he is ready to form an alliance with the Samajwadi Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.
Elections to the 403-member Assembly in Uttar Pradesh are scheduled to be held in November.
To defeat the BJP, which has been in power for the past 10 years, parties including the Congress have begun talks to form an alliance led by Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav.
In this situation, speaking at a public meeting held in Moradabad, Asaduddin Owaisi announced that he is ready to join hands with Akhilesh Yadav.
Owaisi said at that meeting:
“I have said this before. I am saying it again now: we do not want the BJP to form the government again in Uttar Pradesh.
I am ready to form an alliance with the Samajwadi Party. This is the right time for talks. Do not regret it after the election is over.
Our struggle is a struggle for our dignity, a struggle for justice. We no longer want to sit at the bottom; we want equality.
Owaisi said that he too would sit in a chair and speak in front of the chair where Akhilesh sits.”
