Princess Isabella has the distinction of being the first woman to undergo training in Denmark’s compulsory military service.
Military service has traditionally been observed in the Danish royal family. The country’s Crown Prince Christian has also completed his training at a military camp and is currently training as a second lieutenant.
In this context, his sister Isabella has also joined the newly expanded 11-month compulsory military service program.
Isabella, who recently completed her high school education, is part of the first group serving under the expanded national service system, which includes women and offers longer-term training.
With this, Isabella earns the distinction of becoming the first woman from the royal family to undergo full compulsory military service training. She has also said that she does not want any pay for this service.
