The Cauvery Regulatory Committee has recommended releasing water in the Cauvery at the rate of 1 TMC per day for 15 days.
The Cauvery Regulatory Committee meeting was held in Delhi this morning under the chairmanship of Vinith Gupta.
The Tamil Nadu government requested that the 45 TMC of water due to be released to Tamil Nadu in August be released. It also insisted that the pending 33 TMC of water be released as well.
Following this, the Cauvery Regulatory Committee has recommended that Karnataka release water from the Cauvery at the rate of 1 TMC per day for 15 days.
From 8 a.m. on Aug. 12 for 15 days, the Regulatory Committee has said that 12,000 cubic feet of water must be ensured to flow at Biligundulu.
Following this, the Cauvery Management Authority meeting has begun and is under way in Delhi.
The Cauvery Management Authority will review the Cauvery Regulation Committee’s recommendation and issue an order.
