Chennai: YouTuber Irfan, two years ago, took his pregnant wife to Dubai, had a medical examination done, and found out the sex of the fetus in the womb.
He announced this by releasing it as a video on his YouTube channel. At that time, since various criticisms arose, the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services sent a notice to Irfan seeking an explanation. In this connection, health department officials conducted an inquiry with him.
Following this, Irfan expressed regret for his actions and issued an apology letter. Accepting this, the then Health Minister Ma. Subramanian said that no action was necessary against Irfan.
Opposing this, a lawyer named Jegannathan from Tiruvannamalai filed a case in the Chennai High Court. After hearing the case, the judges ordered the Health Department to take action in this matter within 8 weeks.
Following this, a few days ago he appeared in person before the officials at the Directorate of Medical and Rural Health Services in Teynampet and gave an explanation.
