Dindigul: Security has been tightened after a bomb threat was issued to the Palani Murugan Temple.

In this situation, on the occasion of Aadi Krithigai today, thousands had gathered at the Palani Murugan Temple since morning, and the bomb threat caused tension.
A mysterious person called the Dindigul district police control room number on Thursday morning (Aug. 6) and said that a bomb had been planted at the Palani Murugan Temple before disconnecting the call.
The District Superintendent of Police, Jayakumar, was informed about this. Following his orders, more than ten bomb disposal experts, with the help of a sniffer dog, conducted an intensive search throughout the Palani Hill Temple Devasthanam office, the Girivalam path, the place where hair offerings are made, the free restroom, the bathing area, and the mandapam where devotees wait.
Subsequently, it was confirmed that the threat was merely a rumor. Following this, the police, temple officials, and devotees were relieved. In response to the threat, tight security has been deployed throughout the temple.
Person who issued the bomb threat arrested
Furthermore, after conducting an intensive investigation into the person who issued the bomb threat, Palani Nagar police found that the caller who contacted the police control room was Muniyappan (24), from Dharmapuri, and that he had spoken from the Dindigul area.
Following this, the police caught the man who was standing in the Dindigul area and questioned him, and it was revealed that he had issued the bomb threat out of anger for not being allowed to go close to the deity and have darshan at the Palani Murugan Temple. The police then arrested him and are continuing to question him.
