The nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for July were announced today (August 10).
Every month, the ICC honors the players and women players who perform exceptionally well by presenting them with an award. Accordingly, West Indies player Justin Greaves, England captain Harry Brook, and Bangladesh player Tanzid Hasan have been included in the race for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for July.
Justin Greaves (West Indies)
West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves performed excellently with both bat and ball in the month of July.
Justin Greaves, who played brilliantly in the first Test against Sri Lanka, impressed with 180 runs. He also performed well with the ball in the series against Pakistan, taking 7 wickets.
Justin Greaves, who played two Test matches in July, scored 215 runs and took 8 wickets. He also made 32 runs in two One Day Internationals.
Harry Brook (England)
Last month was an excellent one for England captain Harry Brook. He played well in the series against India. In three One Day Internationals, Harry Brook scored only 31 runs.
However, Harry Brook played exceptionally well in the T20 series. He played 5 matches and scored 229 runs. The England team, led by Harry Brook, stunned India by winning both the ODI and T20 series against them.
Harry Brook, who performed brilliantly in the T20 series and scored the most runs, was awarded the Player of the Series.
Tanzid Hasan (Bangladesh)
Tanzid Hasan has emerged as a player who consistently performs well and scores runs for the Bangladesh team. Last month, Bangladesh played ODI and T20 series against Zimbabwe. In both of these series, Tanzid Hasan scored the most runs for Bangladesh.
In 3 ODI matches, Tanzid Hasan scored 159 runs. Similarly, he impressed in the T20 series by scoring 140 runs. His excellent batting helped the Bangladesh team perform well.
It remains to be seen which of these three—Justin Greaves, Harry Brook, and Tanzid Hasan—will win the ICC Player of the Month award for July.
