Puducherry: The Puducherry Police Department has been announced as the recipient of the President’s prestigious Color Award. This distinguished award is being conferred on the Puducherry Police Department in recognition of the department’s long-standing exemplary service, discipline, and contribution to public safety.
The ceremony for this will be held on the 9th at the police ground in Gorimedu, Puducherry. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will come to Puducherry on the 8th (Saturday) to present this award. On that day, he will arrive at Puducherry airport by helicopter from Chennai in the evening. Lieutenant Governor Kailashnathan, Chief Minister Rangasamy, ministers, and MLAs will welcome him.
He will stay overnight in Puducherry and participate in the ceremony held at the Gorimedu ground on the 9th the next day. After delivering a speech and presenting the color award to the Puducherry Police Department, he will leave from there, come to the Puducherry airport, and travel by helicopter to Tiruvannamalai, where he will visit the Ramana Maharishi Ashram.
After that, he will come to Chennai by helicopter from there and then travel to Delhi by plane. In view of Union Minister Amit Shah’s visit, heavy police security arrangements are being made in Puducherry and Tiruvannamalai. The Puducherry event had already been planned to be held on July 25. It is noteworthy that at that time, as the protests in Delhi against the NEET exam had intensified, Amit Shah’s visit to Tamil Nadu and Puducherry was canceled.
