Farmer ‘AI’ at Rs. 2 crore
An ‘Farmer Artificial Intelligence (AI) Scheme’ will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 2 crore to provide farmers with artificial intelligence technology facilities and to instantly deliver information on soil fertility and crop cultivation.
Accordingly, by integrating technologies suitable for AI and machine learning, all technical advice and services from sowing to harvest will be provided, including weather forecasting, soil health, soil fertility, pest and disease management, and climate-appropriate crops.
Moreover, farmers can easily access knowledge-based agricultural services such as market information, voice-based agricultural services, and government schemes through their mobile phones.
Millet Mission
In Tamil Nadu, drought-tolerant, low-water-requirement, highly nutritious, fiber-rich millets such as samai, thinai, varagu, kuthiraivali, and panivaragu are cultivated on an average of 61,750 acres.
To double the cultivation area of these crops, the ‘Tamil Nadu Millet Mission’ will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 7.61 crore in 29 districts of Tamil Nadu.
The “Cotton Revival Mission” will be implemented as a five-year project at a cost of Rs. 27.21 crore over an area of 73,360 acres to promote long-staple cotton cultivation and intercropping.
This will benefit 40,000 cotton farmers. To meet the growing demand for maize and help farmers earn income, the “Maize Production Improvement Scheme” will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 36 crore over an area of 3.47 lakh acres, benefiting 1.39 lakh farmers.
“Every Drop of Water” at Rs. 785 crore
Under the micro-irrigation scheme, small and marginal farmers are provided a 100% subsidy, while other farmers are provided a 75% subsidy.
In the current year, the ‘Drop-by-Drop Water Scheme for Water Management’ will be implemented at a cost of Rs. 758 crore, benefiting 95,000 farmers across 2.23 lakh acres.
