Chennai: Regarding the agriculture budget, AIADMK General Secretary Palaniswami told reporters: In the agriculture budget, farmers had high expectations.

But all they were left with was disappointment. In this budget, there are no major schemes or new announcements that would benefit farmers.

During the election period, TVK made many sweet-sounding election promises. In this first agriculture budget after coming to power, it has disappointed farmers without fulfilling any of those promises.

During the AIADMK regime, we brought in the remarkable scheme called 'Kudimaramathu' and desilted all water bodies, including lakes, ponds, and tanks.

It is only because around 26,000 water bodies were desilted that, even in today’s drought conditions, groundwater levels have risen and are helping farmers.

However, the present government has not fully implemented that scheme and has announced only Rs. 1,500 crore by involving multiple departments.

We had already given the public budget that was presented a 'zero' rating. For this agricultural budget that has now been presented, only 'minus zero' can be given. He said this.

சுமார் 26,000 நீர்நிலைகள் தூர்வாரப்பட்டதால்தான், இன்றைய வறட்சிக் காலத்திலும் நிலத்தடி நீர்மட்டம் உயர்ந்து விவசாயிகளுக்குக் கைகொடுக்கிறது.

ஆனால், தற்போதைய அரசு அத்திட்டத்தை முழுமையாகச் செயல்படுத்தாமல், பல துறைகளை இணைத்து வெறும் ரூ.1,500 கோடி மட்டும் அறிவித்துள்ளது.
