“When Minister Aadhav Arjuna was in the DMK, he was the one who got me a seat,” said DMK MLA Rishivandiyam Karthikeyan, drawing laughter throughout the House.
Speaking during the debate on the Tamil Nadu government’s budget and agriculture budget, DMK MLA Karthikeyan referred to Public Works Minister Aadhav Arjuna by name and said, “He and I are friends too.” At that point, Deputy Speaker Ravishankar interrupted and instructed him to refer to him only as “the Minister” without mentioning his name.

Speaking then, DMK MLA Karthikeyan said, “Let the Speaker not break the friendship between us. When Aadhav Arjuna was in the DMK, he took me to the party leadership and introduced me as his relative, and got me an opportunity to contest the election,” which caused laughter throughout the House.
Then, Water Resources Minister Pusssy Anand, speaking, asked, “Why are you dragging in the Public Works Department minister, who is sitting quietly?” which also caused a wave of laughter.
