With the determination to retain power at any cost, the Sun Party had generously opened the treasury doors to its alliance partners in the election. The major share of this responsibility had been entrusted to the ‘Deepam’ district initials, the honorable one. In this, the ‘Tamil’ candidate of the Khadi Party, who contested in the neighboring district of Mango City, had reportedly handed over his ‘contribution’ as well to the Sun Party leadership itself, asking them to include it in the election expense account and spend it.
However, the ‘Bell’ leader who was in charge of the three constituencies in that district is said to have pocketed most of the ‘funds’ that had come from the leadership for himself. As a result, the candidates standing in the field were said to have struggled badly even for campaign expenses. On this matter, the Khadi candidate had reportedly lodged a hot, immediate complaint with the Sun Party leadership at the time itself. Following this, the Sun Party leadership is said to have summoned the ‘Deepam’ district initial in charge of the treasury and conducted an inquiry.
Following that, the Initial Point, who had recently summoned a senior official from ‘Bell’ to his own residence, reportedly told him to hand over the election income and expenses accounts. He, too, reportedly gave a neat account, saying that everything that had come in had been fully settled. Seeing that, the even more heated Initial Point reportedly said, “I have the accounts of who gave how much to whom. Tell the truth... or else...” and dragged it out.
Even then, ‘Bell’ reportedly stood firm in his position. Coming to the conclusion that there was no point in talking any further, the Initial Point reportedly had his men give ‘Bell’ a round of ‘polish’.
Unable to withstand it any longer, with his head hanging and in a semi-conscious state, he reportedly revealed where the hidden bundles of currency were kept. While keeping him lying there, the person who had sent his men to his native district of Bellary reportedly seized all the hidden currency and brought it to his own place.
At the same time, the “initial one” reportedly kept Mr. “Bellar,” whose face had been “polished” into a pulp, at his own residence for two days, gave him proper “treatment,” and safely sent him off to his hometown without a trace of the “polish” ever showing, they say. “Bellar,” who usually boasts loudly with great swagger, is said to have been subdued and lying low after this “polish” treatment.
