The robotics start-up company ‘Solinas Integrity’, operating in the Chennai IIT Research Park campus, has raised nearly Rs. 48 crore in funding in a ‘Series A1’ investment round. Solinas raising funds in the ‘Series A1’ round, which is offered to start-up companies with the aim of technological development and business expansion, is a new milestone in the company’s growth.
Solinas’s operations
Investment for the ‘Series A1’ funding round has been jointly provided by ‘Hero Enterprise Partner Ventures’ and ‘Mela Ventures’. Solinas, a company founded by Chennai IIT alumni Divanshu Kumar and Moinak Banerjee, is developing robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and digitizing groundwater and sewage infrastructure.
These technologies provide safe, efficient alternative solutions to problems such as water leakage, pollution, and the hazardous practice of manual sewage removal. In addition, the company has developed technologies that enable safe cleaning operations in places such as tanks and sewage channels, where people would otherwise have to enter directly.
Market Expansion
Solinas’ technology is currently being used in more than 15 states and more than 35 cities across India. It has also expanded its operations into South Asian countries, providing technical support for underground infrastructure management for municipal public service organizations. In addition to these activities, Solinas is also involved in infrastructure inspection and maintenance services for various industrial companies, including vehicle manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, and the manufacturing sector.
Future Plans
Using the new funding, the company plans to strengthen its presence in India’s existing markets while expanding its operations. It also aims to broaden its international footprint into markets in West Asian and South Asian countries.
Solinas also plans to invest in the development of next-generation robotic inspection and cleaning technologies, AI-based software development, and industrial infrastructure-related solutions. The company’s management has stated that its next target is to achieve revenue of Rs. 100 crore by 2028.
