In the National Lok Adalat held in Tamil Nadu on Saturday, 91,369 cases were resolved, and Rs. 664.47 crore was secured for the affected people.
To quickly bring long-pending cases in courts across the country to a close, Lok Adalats, or people’s courts, are held four times a year at the national level. Accordingly, Lok Adalat was held across the country on Saturday.
In Tamil Nadu, the State Legal Services Authority conducted this National Lok Adalat.
Regarding this, Legal Services Authority Member-Secretary S. Balakrishnan said:
The National Lok Adalat was held in Tamil Nadu under the guidance of Chief Justice S.A. Dharmadhikari of the Madras High Court. At the Madras High Court, 5 benches were constituted under the leadership of Judges P. Velmurugan, P.T. Asha, N. Senthilkumar, G. Arulmurugan, and retired Judge P. Gokuldas; at the Madurai Bench of the High Court, 3 benches were constituted under the leadership of Judges P.P. Balaji, P. Vadamalai, and P. Danapal; and in district- and taluk-level courts, judges and criminal mediation court judges formed a total of 506 benches.
These sittings heard various types of cases pending in court, including motor vehicle accident cases, cheque fraud cases, labor-related cases, electricity board-related cases, and maintenance cases.
In this, after negotiations between both parties and with their full consent, 91,369 cases were settled through compromise. Through this, the affected parties received Rs. 664.47 crore, he said.

தமிழகத்தில் சனிக்கிழமை நடைபெற்ற தேசிய மக்கள் நீதிமன்றத்தில் (லோக் அதாலத்) 91,369 வழக்குகள் தீா்வு காணப்பட்டு, பாதிக்கப்பட்டவா்களுக்கு ரூ.664.47 கோடி பெற்றுத்தரப்பட்டுள்ளது.
நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள நீதிமன்றங்களில் நீண்ட காலமாக நிலுவையில் இருக்கும் வழக்குகளை விரைவாக முடிவுக்கு கொண்டு வர தேசிய அளவில் ஆண்டுக்கு 4 முறை லோக் அதாலத் என்ற மக்கள் நீதிமன்றம் நடத்தப்படுகிறது. அந்த வகையில் நாடு முழுவதும் லோக் அதாலத் சனிக்கிழமை நடத்தப்பட்டது.
தமிழகத்தில் மாநில சட்டப்பணிகள் ஆணைக் குழு இந்த தேசிய லோக் அதாலத்தை நடத்தியது.
இதுகுறித்து சட்டப் பணி ஆணைக்குழு உறுப்பினா் செயலா் எஸ்.பாலகிருஷ்ணன் கூறியதாவது:
தமிழகத்தில் சென்னை உயா்நீதிமன்ற தலைமை நீதிபதி எஸ்.ஏ.தா்மாதிகாரி வழிகாட்டுதலின்படி தேசிய லோக் அதாலத் நடைபெற்றது. சென்னை உயா்நீதிமன்றத்தில் நீதிபதிகள் பி.வேல்முருகன், பி.டி.ஆஷா, என்.செந்தில்குமாா், ஜி.அருள்முருகன் மற்றும் ஓய்வு பெற்ற நீதிபதி பி.கோகுல்தாஸ் ஆகியோா் தலைமையில் 5 அமா்வுகள், உயா்நீதிமன்ற மதுரை அமா்வில் நீதிபதிகள் பி.பி.பாலாஜி, பி.வடமலை, பி.தனபால் ஆகியோா் தலைமையில் 3 அமா்வுகள், மாவட்டம் மற்றும் தாலுகா அளவிலான நீதிமன்றங்களில் நீதிபதிகள், குற்றவியல் நடுவா்மன்ற நீதிபதிகள் என மொத்தம் 506 அமா்வுகள் அமைக்கப்பட்டன.
இந்த அமா்வுகள், நீதிமன்றத்தில் நிலுவையில் மோட்டாா் வாகன விபத்து வழக்குகள், காசோலை மோசடி வழக்குகள், தொழிலாளா் தொடா்பான வழக்குகள், மின் வாரியம் தொடா்பான வழக்குகள், ஜீவனாம்ச வழக்குகள் என்று பல்வேறு வகையான வழக்குகளை விசாரித்தது.
இதில், இருதரப்பினா் இடையே பேச்சுவாா்த்தை நடத்தி, அவா்களின் முழு சம்மதத்துடன், 91,369 வழக்குகள் சமரசத்துக்கு வந்தன. இதன்மூலம், பாதிக்கப்பட்டவா்களுக்கு ரூ.664.47 கோடி கிடைத்துள்ளது என்று அவா் கூறினாா்.
