Elections were held last month for municipalities across Maharashtra. There was intense competition in Ambernath near Mumbai in this election. In this election, Shiv Sena won in 27 out of a total of 60 wards. They were short of a majority by 4 seats. To ensure that Shiv Sena does not come to power at any cost, the BJP held talks with its other alliance party, the Nationalist Congress Party. BJP won in 14 seats in this election. சிவசேனா(ஷிண்டே)வின் கோட்டையாகக் கருதப்பட்ட அம்பர்நாத்தில் கணிசமாக தமிழர்கள் வசிக்கின்றனர். இங்கு நடந்த தேர்தலில் பா.ஜ.க-வும், சிவசேனா(ஷிண்டே)வும் தனித்துப் போட்டியிட்டன.
இது தவிர தேசியவாத காங்கிரஸ், காங்கிரஸ் கட்சிகளும் தனித்தனியாகப் போட்டியிட்டன. சிவசேனாவும், பா.ஜ.கவும் இத்தேர்தலில் கடுமையாக மோதிக்கொண்டன.
இத்தேர்தலில் பா.ஜ.க-வைச் சேர்ந்த தேஜஸ்ரீ பாட்டீல் சிவசேனா வேட்பாளர் மனிஷாவைத் தோற்கடித்தார். இது துணை முதல்வர் ஏக்நாத் ஷிண்டேவின் மகன் ஸ்ரீகாந்த் ஷிண்டேவுக்குப் பெரும் பின்னடைவாகக் கருதப்படுகிறது.

பா.ஜ.க இத்தேர்தலில் 14 இடங்களில் வெற்றி பெற்று இருந்தது. தேசியவாத காங்கிரஸ் 4 இடங்களில் வெற்றி பெற்று இருந்தது. இது தவிர காங்கிரஸ் 12 இடங்களில் வெற்றி பெற்று இருந்தது. ஆட்சியைத் தக்க வைக்க பா.ஜ.க மிகவும் அபூர்வமாக காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியுடனும் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தியது. இப்பேச்சுவார்த்தையில் உடன்பாடு எட்டப்பட்டது.
இதையடுத்து நடந்த நகராட்சியின் இதர கமிட்டிகளில் பா.ஜ.க-காங்கிரஸ் கூட்டணி வெற்றி பெற்றது. இதனால் ஏக்நாத் ஷிண்டே மிகவும் அதிருப்தி அடைந்துள்ளார்.
இது குறித்து பா.ஜ.க தலைவர்களிடம் பேசியபோது இது உள்ளூர் நிர்வாகிகள் எடுத்த முடிவு என்று தெரிவித்தனர்.
இது குறித்து அம்பர்நாத் பா.ஜ.க கவுன்சிலர் அபிஜித் கூறுகையில், சிவசேனாவின் ஊழலில் இருந்து அம்பர்நாத்தை விடுவிப்பதே எங்களது முதல் வேலை என்று தெரிவித்தார்.
