At the India alliance’s consultative meeting held in Delhi on June 8 (yesterday), several regional parties strongly criticized the Congress party. At the end of the meeting, it was also decided to “undertake a self-assessment of the alliance’s functioning, meet once every two months to discuss matters, and form a coordination committee.”
Twenty-three parties took part in this meeting. However, the DMK, the main party in the India alliance, and the Aam Aadmi Party boycotted the meeting.
Reports have emerged that parties within the INDIA alliance have strongly criticized the absence of the DMK from the alliance. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav raised the issue in the meeting. The regional parties in the INDIA alliance frowned, saying, 'Congress should act in a way that unites and harmonizes the alliance. It should avoid competing with regional parties.'
Even before the consultation meeting began, alliance leaders such as the Left parties, the Samajwadi Party, and the RJD were deeply dissatisfied with the Congress. Other leaders pointed out Akhilesh Yadav’s criticism that “the Congress party is acting with a narrow mindset. It is not showing the magnanimity expected of the country’s largest opposition party.”

Reports have also emerged that many leaders stressed that the leadership of the INDIA alliance should be decided based on which party is strong in which state, and that the Congress should not automatically be given the leadership role in every state.
Kerala Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas said, “We have no problem with Congress and the Left clashing politically in Kerala. But when Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi are the national faces of the INDIA alliance, how can they directly say that ‘the Left has joined hands with the BJP’? Such direct, baseless accusations from leaders who are the national faces of the INDIA alliance will only undermine the very purpose of the INDIA alliance. We do not need any certificate from Congress for opposing the BJP. Congress has abandoned its alliance with the DMK solely for the sake of power.”
"Dumping the DMK just for ministerial posts is not a valid reason. When central investigative agencies targeted Congress leaders in the 'National Herald' case, we stood by you. But why does Congress welcome it when central agencies take action in Kerala?" Such sharp questions from the Left made the consultation meeting heated.
Several leaders, including Nationalist Congress Party leader Supriya Sule, criticized the way the Congress targeted the DMK. During the course of the meeting, former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tried to bring the DMK more forcefully into the discussion. CPI leader D. Raja reminded the Congress that Rahul Gandhi, while campaigning in Kerala, had said, “The Left are no longer Left.” In response to criticism from the Left, Rahul Gandhi reportedly said in the House, citing the awarding of the Vizhinjam port contract to the Adani Group, that “the CPI(M) has compromised.”
`But the Adani Group’s entry began only during the Congress government led by Oommen Chandy (2011–2016),' John Brittas immediately shot back. இந்தக் கூட்டத்தில் 23 கட்சிகள் பங்கேற்றன. ஆனால், இந்தியா கூட்டணியின் பிரதான கட்சியான தி.மு.க-வும், ஆம் ஆத்மியும் இக்கூட்டத்தைப் புறக்கணித்திருக்கின்றன.

`பீகாரில் காங்கிரஸ் எம்.எல்.ஏ-க்கள் பா.ஜ.க-விற்கு தாவியதை அடுத்து, சில காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர்கள் பா.ஜ.க-விடம் மென்மையான போக்கைக் கடைப்பிடிக்கின்றனர். காங்கிரஸ் போட்டியிட்ட 15 இடங்கள் கூட்டணியின் வெற்றி வாய்ப்பைப் பாதித்தது’ என தேஜஸ்வி யாதவ் குற்றம் சாட்டியிருக்கிறார்.

‘இந்தியா கூட்டணியின் தலைமை என்பது, எந்த மாநிலத்தில் எந்தக் கட்சி வலுவாக இருக்கிறதோ அதைப் பொறுத்துதான் தீர்மானிக்கப்பட வேண்டுமே தவிர, அது எல்லா மாநிலங்களிலும் தானாகவே காங்கிரஸுக்கு தலைமைப்பொறுப்பு சென்றுவிடக் கூடாது’ என்று பல தலைவர்கள் வலியுறுத்தியதாகவும் செய்திகள் வெளியாகியிருக்கின்றன.
கேரளாவைச் சேர்ந்த மாநிலங்களவை எம்.பி ஜான் பிரிட்டாஸ், “கேரளாவில் காங்கிரஸும் இடதுசாரிகளும் அரசியல் ரீதியாக மோதிக்கொள்வதில் எங்களுக்கு எந்தப் பிரச்னையும் இல்லை. ஆனால், மல்லிகார்ஜுன கார்கேவும், ராகுல் காந்தியும் இந்தியா கூட்டணியின் தேசிய முகங்களாக இருக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் நேரடியாக `இடதுசாரிகள் பா.ஜ.க-வுடன் கூட்டு சேர்ந்திருக்கிறார்கள்’ என எப்படி பேச முடியும்? இந்தியா கூட்டணியின் தேசிய முகங்களாக இருக்கும் தலைவர்களின் இத்தகைய நேரடியான ஆதரமற்ற குற்றச்சாட்டுகள், இந்தியா கூட்டணியின் நோக்கத்தையே சிதைத்துவிடும். பா.ஜ.க-வை எதிர்ப்பதில் எங்களுக்கு காங்கிரஸிடம் இருந்து எந்தச் சான்றிதழும் தேவையில்லை. வெறும் அதிகாரத்திற்காக மட்டுமே காங்கிரஸ் தி.மு.க உடனான கூட்டணியைக் கைவிட்டிருக்கிறது.
அமைச்சரவை பதவிகளுக்காக தி.மு.க-வைக் கழற்றிவிடுவது சரியான காரணம் அல்ல. ‘நேஷனல் ஹெரால்டு’ வழக்கில் காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர்களை மத்திய விசாரணை முகமைகள் குறிவைத்தபோது, நாங்கள் உங்களுக்கு ஆதரவாக நின்றோம். ஆனால் கேரளாவில் மத்திய முகமைகள் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கும்போது அதை காங்கிரஸ் வரவேற்பது ஏன்?” என்பது உள்ளிட்ட இடதுசாரிகளின் காட்டமான கேள்விகளால் ஆலோசனைக் கூட்டம் அனல் பறந்தது.
காங்கிரஸால் தி.மு.க குறிவைக்கப்பட்ட விதத்தை தேசியவாத காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் சுப்ரியா சுலே உள்ளிட்ட பல தலைவர்கள் விமர்சித்தனர். கூட்டத்தின் போக்கில், தி.மு.க-வை விவாதத்திற்குள் இன்னும் தீவிரமாகக் கொண்டு வர மேற்கு வங்க முன்னாள் முதல்வர் மம்தா பானர்ஜி முயன்றார். கேரளாவில் பிரசாரம் செய்த ராகுல் காந்தி, “இடதுசாரிகள் இனி இடதுசாரிகள் அல்ல” என்று கூறியதை சிபிஐ தலைவர் டி.ராஜா காங்கிரஸிற்கு நினைவூட்டினார். இடதுசாரிகளின் விமர்சனத்துக்கு பதிலளிக்கும் விதமாக ராகுல் காந்தி, அதானி குழுமத்திற்கு விழிஞ்ஞம் துறைமுக ஒப்பந்தம் வழங்கப்பட்டதை ஆதாரமாகக் காட்டி, ‘சிபிஐ(எம்) சமரசம் செய்துகொண்டுள்ளது’ என சபையிலேயே பேசியதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது.
`ஆனால், அதானி குழுமத்தின் வருகை உம்மன் சாண்டி (2011-2016) தலைமையிலான காங்கிரஸ் ஆட்சியில்தான் தொடங்கியது’ என்று ஜான் பிரிட்டாஸ் அதற்கு உடனடியாக பதிலடி கொடுத்தார். இப்படியாக ஆலோசனைக் கூட்டம் தலைவர்களின் கேள்வியும் – பதிலுமாக விவாதக் களமானது. அப்போது கேள்விகளுக்கு இடையே யாரும் குறுக்கிட வேண்டாம் என சோனியா காந்தி தலையிட்டுக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.
இறுதியில் மாநில அளவிலான மற்றும் தேசிய அளவிலான அரசியல் உத்திகளுக்கு இடையே சிறந்த ஒருங்கிணைப்பை விரும்புவதாக காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். ஜம்மு காஷ்மீர் முதல்வர் உமர் அப்துல்லா, “கூட்டணியின் சாதனைகளில் கவனம் செலுத்த வேண்டும். நாடாளுமன்றத்தில் பா.ஜ.க-வை சிறுபான்மை அரசாங்கமாக மாற்றிய பெருமை இந்த கூட்டணியைச் சேரும். சிறந்த ஒருங்கிணைப்பு மூலம் மேலும் பலவற்றைச் சாதிக்க முடியும்.” எனக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டார்.
உமர் அப்துல்லாவின் கருத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொண்ட கூட்டணி கட்சிகள் ‘நெருக்கமான ஒருங்கிணைப்பு தேவை’ என்பதை உணர்ந்து தலைவர்கள், இரண்டு மாதங்களுக்கு ஒருமுறை கூடிப் பேச முடிவு செய்தனர். சிபிஐ (எம்எல்) பொதுச் செயலாளர் தீபங்கர் பட்டாச்சார்யா, “இந்தியா கூட்டணி ஒரு யோசனையாக உருவெடுத்துள்ளது, இனி அது ஒரு தனித்துவ அடையாளமாக மாற வேண்டும்” என்றார்.
இறுதியாக விமர்சனங்களுக்குப் பதிலளித்த ராகுல் காந்தி, “அனைவரையும் அரவணைத்துச் செல்வதே எனது நோக்கம். தேர்தல் சமயங்களில் கூட்டணி கட்சிகளை காங்கிரஸ் விமர்சிப்பது உள்ளூர் அரசியல் கட்டாயங்களால் ஏற்படுவது.
