With the NEET re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21, the exam duration has been increased to 3 hours and 15 minutes.
The NEET exam for admission to undergraduate medical courses including MBBS, BDS, Siddha, Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy was held on May 3, but the exam was canceled due to a question paper leak. Various groups protested, saying that the dreams of lakhs of students had been shattered.
As the CBI is investigating the case related to the question paper leak, those involved have been arrested.
In this situation, it has been announced that the NEET retest will be held on June 21, and arrangements are being made for it.
While it had already been announced that additional time would be allotted for the NEET retest, the official notification regarding it has now been released.
The National Testing Agency said about this, "The National Testing Agency is committed to conducting the NEET examination in a fair, secure, and candidate-friendly manner. As part of this, certain changes have been introduced for candidates for the NEET retest to be held on June 21, 2026.
Based on feedback received from candidates in the past, the duration of the examination has been extended to 195 minutes (3 hours and 15 minutes).
Accordingly, the examination will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. This includes the time required for examination procedures such as signing the attendance register and other monitoring procedures.
This measure has been taken in response to students’ view that these administrative procedures were affecting the time available for writing the exam. This will enable students to make full use of the examination time.
Furthermore, it has announced that the space provided in the question paper booklet for 'rough work' has also been increased."

தேசிய தேர்வுகள் முகமை இதுபற்றி, “நீட் தேர்வை நியாயமான, பாதுகாப்பான மற்றும் தேர்வர்களின் தேவைகளை நிறைவு செய்யும் வகையில் நடத்த தேசியத் தேர்வுகள் முகமை உறுதியாக உள்ளது. இதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக, 2026 ஜூன் 21 அன்று நடைபெறவுள்ள நீட் மறுதேர்வுக்காக தேர்வர்களுக்காக சில மாற்றங்கள் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.
