Puducherry: “The Congress alliance with the TVK continues in Puducherry. If TVK contests the Thattanchavady by-election, Congress will extend its support,” said Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP V. Vaithilingam.
Speaking to reporters today at the Congress party office, he said: The Chief Minister Rangasamy’s authoritarian style does not need either a cabinet or the legislative assembly. He alone will run the administration.
The Congress alliance with the TVK continues in Puducherry. The party leadership will decide whether to contest the Thattanchavady constituency by-election. There is no possibility of a friendly contest in the by-election. The reason for the defeat is that the DMK underestimated Vijay’s party, TVK.
In the constituencies where we contested as friends, it was the DMK that won. I will not contest the Thattanchavady constituency by-election. In Puducherry, the DMK was the one that led the alliance. Therefore, the DMK is also responsible for the defeat. The DMK itself took charge of the alliance leadership. The DMK held talks with the alliance parties on its own.
If TVK contests in Thattanchavadi, Congress will extend support. They voted saying Thattanchavadi constituency is the Chief Minister’s constituency. But since the Chief Minister has resigned from that constituency, the people of that constituency have been deceived,” he said.

புதுச்சேரியில் தவெகவுடன் காங்கிரஸ் கூட்டணி தொடர்கிறது. தட்டாஞ்சாவடி தொகுதி இடைத்தேர்தலில் போட்டியிடுவது குறித்து கட்சித் தலைமை முடிவு செய்யும். இடைத்தேர்தலில் நட்பு போட்டிக்கு வாய்ப்பில்லை. விஜய் கட்சியான தவெகவை திமுக குறைவாக மதிப்பிடுவது தான் தோல்விக்கு காரணம்.
நாங்கள் நட்பு ரீதியாக போட்டியிட்ட தொகுதிகளில் திமுக தான் வெற்றி பெற்றுள்ளது. தட்டாஞ்சாவடி தொகுதி இடைத்தேர்தலில் நான் போட்டியிட மாட்டேன். புதுவையில் கூட்டணிக்கு திமுகதான் தலைமை தாங்கியது. அதனால் தோல்விக்கும் திமுகவே காரணம். கூட்டணி தலைமையை திமுகவே எடுத்து கொண்டது. கூட்டணி கட்சிகளிடம் தன்னிச்சையாக திமுக பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தியது.
தட்டாஞ்சாவடியில் தவெக போட்டியிட்டால் காங்கிரஸ் ஆதரவு அளிக்கும். தட்டாஞ்சாவடி தொகுதி முதல்வர் தொகுதி என வாக்களித்தனர். ஆனால் அந்த தொகுதியை முதல்வர் ராஜினாமா செய்துள்ளதால், அந்தத் தொகுதி மக்கள் ஏமாற்றப்பட்டுள்ளனர்” என்று அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
