Union Home Minister Amit Shah is carrying out attacks aimed at destabilizing the opposition parties. The Congress has alleged that he is acting this way out of humiliation after being unable to pass the Constitution Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha last April.
Congress has also said that Amit Shah will not be able to succeed in this attempt to undermine Indian democracy.
Senior party leader Sanjay Raut alleged that, while more than 20 Trinamool Congress MPs have already taken a pro-BJP stance, Rs. 15 crore is being offered as an advance to MPs from the Shiv Sena (Uddhav) party in Maharashtra to switch sides.
In this regard, Congress communications department in-charge and senior party leader Jairam Ramesh, in a post on the ‘X’ platform on Wednesday, said, ‘The Union Home Minister continues to carry out his attacks against the opposition and his actions that undermine Indian democracy. He is doing this in retaliation for the humiliation suffered when the ruling party was unable to pass the constitutional amendment bill related to women’s reservation in the Lok Sabha.
Various incentives are being offered to those who were elected as MPs two years ago for their anti-BJP stance in order to join the BJP. The amounts said to be offered to them are beyond imagination.
The Union Home Minister is acting entirely out of political gain. He is offering various incentives according to each person's needs. There is no limit to his low-level politics. But he will not be able to achieve his goal,’ he said.
