Kumbakonam: A secret puja conducted by TVK members at the Kumbakonam MLA office in the middle of the night caused smoke to rise, creating a stir. This has also sparked controversy.

At present, people who come to the MLA office to submit petitions to Kumbakonam MLA Vinoth, who is also the Agriculture Minister, are returning disappointed after seeing that the office remains locked.

When asked about the midnight ritual, Shiva acharyas who were familiar with the details said, ‘Rituals for auspicious activities are conducted in the early morning Brahma Muhurta. Rituals conducted at midnight are performed for sinister purposes such as harming others, and midnight ugra tantric rituals are also conducted to remove afflictions like black magic and evil spells,’ they said.
At the government office of the Legislative Assembly member’s office, party members and some others opened the office at midnight and performed a पूजा in the absence of the responsible Agriculture Minister Vinod, which has caused controversy.
