West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew and Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee was questioned for more than six hours on Tuesday by the CID wing of the West Bengal police.
The questioning was conducted in connection with a case registered on charges of creating conflict between two sides during the West Bengal election campaign. In addition, he was also asked questions regarding a case involving forged signatures in the names of Trinamool Congress MLAs. All of this was fully video recorded.
After the questioning ended, Abhishek Banerjee avoided meeting reporters and went to the residence of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to meet her.
