Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, 91,369 pending cases were resolved in a single day through the National Lok Adalats held across the state, and orders were issued to provide Rs. 664.47 crore as compensation to the affected parties.
With the aim of providing speedy and free resolution to long-pending public cases, the National Lok Adalat was held across Tamil Nadu yesterday under the auspices of the State Legal Services Authority. In this Lok Adalat, conducted as per the instructions of the Chairman of the State Legal Services Authority and Chief Justice of the High Court, S.A. Dharmadhikari, 5 benches were set up at the Chennai High Court and 3 benches at the Madurai Bench of the High Court, where pending cases were heard.
Pending cases were heard at the Chennai High Court under the leadership of judges P. Velmurugan, P.T. Asha, N. Senthilkumar, G. Arul Murugan, and former judge P. Gokul Das, and at the Madurai Bench of the High Court under the leadership of judges P.P. Balaji, P. Vadamalai, and P. Danapal. Similarly, a total of 506 benches were set up at the district and taluk levels, and a total of 91,369 pending cases were resolved in a single day yesterday.
As a result, cheques totaling Rs. 664 crore 47 lakh 21 thousand 308 were issued as compensation to the affected persons. These Lok Adalat arrangements held across the state were organized by the respective district judges under the leadership of S. Balakrishnan, Member Secretary of the State Legal Services Authority and District Judge.
As part of this, at the Lok Adalat held in the Chennai City Civil Court, High Court Judge and State Legal Services Authority member A.D. Jagadish Chandra handed over cheques for compensation amounts to the beneficiaries in the cases that were settled.

சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்றத்தில் நீதிபதிகள் பி.வேல்முருகன், பி.டி.ஆஷா, என்.செந்தில்குமார், ஜி.அருள் முருகன் மற்றும் முன்னாள் நீதிபதி பி.கோகுல் தாஸ் ஆகியோர் தலைமையிலும், உயர் நீதிமன்ற மதுரை கிளையில் நீதிபதிகள் பி.பி.பாலாஜி, பி.வடமலை, பி.தனபால் ஆகியோரது தலை மையிலும் நிலுவை வழக்குகள் விசாரிக்கப்பட்டன. இதேபோல மாவட்ட மற்றும் தாலுகா அளவில் மொத்தம் 506 அமர்வுகள் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டு மொத்தம் 91,369 நிலுவை வழக்குகளுக்கு நேற்று ஒரே நாளில் தீர்வு காணப்பட்டன.
இதன் மூலம் மொத்தம் ரூ.664 கோடியே 47 லட்சத்து 21 ஆயிரத்து 308-க்கான காசோலைகள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு இழப்பீடாக வழங்கப்பட்டன. மாநிலம் முழுவதும் நடைபெற்ற இந்த லோக்-அதாலத் ஏற்பாடுகளை மாநில சட்டப் பணிகள் ஆணைக் குழு உறுப்பினர் செயலரும், மாவட்ட நீதிபதியுமான எஸ்.பாலகிருஷ்ணன் தலைமையில் அந்தந்த மாவட்ட நீதிபதிகள் செய்திருந்தனர்.
இதன் ஒரு பகுதியாக, சென்னை மாநகர சிவில் நீதிமன்றத்தில் நடைபெற்ற லோக்- அதாலத்தில், உயர் நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதியும் மாநில சட்டப் பணிகள் ஆணைக்குழு உறுப்பினருமான ஏ.டி.ஜெகதீஷ் சந்திரா, தீர்வு காணப்பட்ட வழக்குகளில் பயனாளிகளுக்கு இழப்பீட்டு தொகைக்கான காசோலைகளை வழங்கினார்.
