Puducherry: After the fishing ban period ended and fishermen set out to sea, Chief Minister Rangasamy responded to the question of when the Puducherry Legislative Assembly would convene while seeing them off.
As per the Central government's order, this year's fishing ban period began on April 15. In Puducherry, boats were anchored at the harbor in all fishing villages from Kanagachettikulam to Moorthikuppam, and in Karaikal from Mandapathur to Vanchur.
During the fishing ban period, fishermen used the time to repair their boats and nets and carry out maintenance work. Following the end of the 60-day ban today, which fell on Sunday, work was in full swing at Thengaithittu harbour to prepare 144 mechanized boats that go out for deep-sea fishing.

After that, speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Rangasamy said, "The cabinet expansion will take place on the 17th. Once the ministers are sworn in, it will be announced when the Puducherry Legislative Assembly will convene. There is time until August to convene the Assembly. We will consult with coalition partners and decide on the issue of the nominated MLAs' posts," he said.
