குறிப்பாக கோவை தெற்கு சட்டப்பேரவை தொகுதிக்கு உட்பட்ட பகுதிகளில் கரூரைச் சேர்ந்த குழுவினர் தி.மு.க. வேட்பாளர் செந்தில் பாலாஜிக்கு ஆதரவாக வாக்காளர்களுக்கு ரூ.5 ஆயிரம் வரை பணம் வழங்கி வருவதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. இதேபோல அ.தி.மு.க-வினர் வாக்காளர்களுக்கு ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் வழங்கி வருவதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது.
இதனிடையே நேற்றிரவு ராமநாதபுரம் 80 அடி வீதியில் பணப்பட்டுவாடா செய்ததாக கரூர் குழுவினர் மீது அ.தி.மு.க-வினர் தாக்குதல் நடத்தினர். மேலும் பிடிபட்டவர்கள் மீது கடும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கக் கோரி, ராமநாதபுரம் காவல் நிலையத்தை அ.தி.மு.க-வினர் முற்றுகையிட்ட நிலையில், தி.மு.க-வினரும் குவிந்த நிலையில் காவல் துறையினர் லேசான தடியடி நடத்தி கலைத்தனர்.

இந்த நிலையில் கோவை தெற்கு தொகுதி தேர்தலை ரத்து செய்யக்கோரி, மறுமலர்ச்சி மக்கள் இயக்கத்தின் தலைவர் ஈஸ்வரன் தேர்தல் ஆணையத்திற்கு ஒரு புகார் மனு அளித்துள்ளார். அதில் கூறியிருப்பதாவது, “கோவை தெற்கு தொகுதியில் தி.மு.க-விற்கு ஓட்டு போடுவதற்காக வாக்காளர்களுக்கு பணம் விநியோகம் நடைபெற்றுக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது.
ஓட்டுக்கு 5,000 ரூபாய் வரையில் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஜனநாயகத்திற்கு எதிரான கொடுஞ்செயல் நடைபெற்றுள்ளதால், இத்தொகுதி தேர்தலை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும். வாக்காளர்களுக்கு பணம் கொடுத்த வேட்பாளர் மீது வழக்குப் பதிவு செய்து தகுதி நீக்கம் செய்ய வேண்டும்.
இதேபோல சிங்காநல்லூர், தொண்டாமுத்தூர் கிணத்துக்கடவு ஆகிய தொகுதிகளில் அ.தி.மு.க, தி.மு.க. ஆகிய இரு கட்சிகளும் ஓட்டுக்கு பணம் கொடுத்து வருகின்றன. இந்தத் தொகுதிகளிலும் தேர்தலை ரத்து செய்யவும், ஓட்டுக்கு பணம் கொடுத்த வேட்பாளர்கள் மீது கடும் நடவடிக்கை எடுக்கவும் வேண்டும்” என்று அதில் கூறப்பட்டுள்ளது.
