The clash between DMK and VCK workers in Kunnam, Perambalur district, is very concerning, and VCK comrades are requested not to react on social media to unnecessary rumors, said Thirumavalavan, leader of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi. To ensure this government is formed and to prevent the establishment of a presidential system in Tamil Nadu, VCK supported this government by aligning with the leftists. Initially, we had decided to provide support from outside. However, since Congress announced the alliance would last only until the parliamentary elections, and because the leftists were also providing support from outside, the leadership of the ruling party was concerned that this might pose some threat to the government.
Efforts are being made to include those who have resigned from AIADMK to ensure the majority is not lost. As long as comrades like us exist, we will never allow this government to fall. With that confidence, the DMK leadership must govern efficiently. Chief Minister Joseph Vijay invited the VCK and Muslim League parties to join the cabinet because of this gentleman. Understanding that strategy and considering the current political situation, we decided to participate in the cabinet. To maintain the majority, the DMK is incorporating those who have resigned as MLAs from AIADMK into the DMK.
It will affect the credibility of the AIADMK party. This is not a good sign for future politics. The DMK leadership should not encourage such actions. Although this is the first time in Tamil Nadu's history that so many people from the Dalit community have been given positions in the cabinet, Karnataka has already had 6 to 7 members in the cabinet from that community. Merely appointing a few as ministers does not represent the overall political progress of that community. However, it is a matter of happiness that the community has been given due recognition. ஆரம்பத்தில் வெளியிலிருந்து ஆதரவு தருவதாகவே முடிவெடுத்திருந்தோம். ஆனால், காங்கிரஸ் நாடாளுமன்றத் தேர்தல் வரை மட்டுமே கூட்டணி என்று அறிவித்ததாலும், இடதுசாரிகள் வெளியிலிருந்து ஆதரவு தருவதாலும், ஆட்சிக்கு ஏதேனும் ஆபத்து வந்துவிடுமோ என்ற ஐயம் ஆளும்கட்சித் தலைமைக்கு இருந்தது. மெஜாரிட்டி குறைந்துவிடக் கூடாது என்பதற்காகவே அ.தி.மு.க-விலிருந்து ராஜினாமா செய்துவிட்டு வருபவர்களை சேர்க்கும் முயற்சிகள் நடக்கின்றன.
எங்களைப் போன்ற தோழமைச் சக்திகள் இருக்கும் வரை இந்த ஆட்சி கவிழ்வதற்கு நாங்கள் ஒருபோதும் இடம் கொடுக்க மாட்டோம். அந்த நம்பிக்கையோடு த.வெ.க தலைமை திறம்பட ஆட்சி நடத்த வேண்டும்.
இந்த ஐயத்தின் காரணமாகவே வி.சி.க மற்றும் முஸ்லிம் லீக் கட்சிகளை அமைச்சரவையில் இணையுமாறு அவர்கள் அழைத்தனர். அந்த நுட்பத்தைப் புரிந்து கொண்டு, தற்போதைய அரசியல் சூழலைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டே நாங்கள் அமைச்சரவையில் பங்கேற்கும் முடிவை எடுத்தோம்.
மெஜாரிட்டியைத் தக்கவைக்க, அ.தி.மு.க-வில் இருந்து எம்.எல்.ஏ பதவியை ராஜினாமா செய்துவிட்டு வருபவர்களைத் த.வெ.க-வில் இணைத்துக் கொள்வது, ஆளும்கட்சியின் மீதான நம்பகத்தன்மையைப் பாதிக்கும். எதிர்கால அரசியலுக்கு இது நல்ல அறிகுறி அல்ல. இதுபோன்ற நடவடிக்கைகளை த.வெ.க தலைமை ஊக்கப்படுத்தக் கூடாது.
தமிழ்நாடு வரலாற்றில் தலித் சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த இத்தனை பேருக்கு அமைச்சரவையில் இடம் கிடைத்திருப்பது இதுவே முதல்முறை என்றாலும், கர்நாடகாவில் ஏற்கனவே 6 முதல் 7 பேர் அமைச்சரவையில் இடம் பெற்றுள்ளனர். சிலருக்கு அமைச்சர் பதவி வழங்குவது மட்டுமே அந்த சமூகத்திற்கான ஒட்டுமொத்த அரசியல் முன்னேற்றமாகி விடாது. எனினும், அந்த சமூகத்திற்கு உரிய அங்கீகாரம் அளிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறது என்ற வகையில் மகிழ்ச்சியே” என்றார்.
