A tense situation is prevailing in Tamil Nadu politics. In the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the DMK party faced defeat, while the TMC emerged as a single party winning the most seats. However, the TMC did not secure enough seats to form a majority government. Out of the total 234 constituencies, a party needs to win 118 seats on its own to establish a majority government. The TMC leader Vijay, however, won only 108 seats as a single party. Since the party did not get the required number of seats for a majority, the TMC sought support from the Congress.
