Regarding the BJP’s allegation that irregularities took place in the awarding of the solid waste contract, Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said that they are ready to face any investigation.
Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok had alleged that irregularities worth Rs. 39,000 crore took place in granting approval for a 30-year solid waste management contract in areas under the Greater Bengaluru Authority.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi on Thursday, Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said:
Opposition leader R. Ashok has alleged that there was a scam worth Rs. 39,000 crore in the approval of the tender awarded for solid waste management in Bengaluru. I had already discussed this with him earlier. In that context, his allegation is amusing. Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy had also made the same allegation.
Why was no tender called to handle solid waste management in Bengaluru during the previous BJP government? We had granted permission to 14 people to generate electricity from garbage. None of them succeeded. Before approving this tender, I visited Delhi, Hyderabad, and Chennai and conducted an inspection.
The company that has secured the contract to dispose of the garbage is set to invest Rs. 6,000 crore. No place could be found anywhere to carry out this work. Therefore, it was decided to buy land near Thottapallapur. The government itself has acquired the land.
I had even issued a public notice inviting people to come forward to provide land. BJP former minister Arvind Limbavali stopped the transport of garbage. Due to pressure from MLAs, a subsidy of Rs. 800 crore has been granted for this project. Electricity and gas need to be produced from the garbage.
Let anyone file a report, lodge a complaint, or conduct an inquiry regarding this matter if there has been any irregularity. I am ready to face that inquiry. I am also ready to face the allegation that I received a bribe of Rs. 10,000 crore.
He said that BJP members, unable to tolerate the fact that he has become Chief Minister, have filed a complaint against him with the Governor.

குப்பைகளை அழிப்பதற்கு ஒப்பந்தப்புள்ளி பெற்றுள்ள நிறுவனம் ரூ. 6 ஆயிரம் கோடியை முதலீடு செய்ய இருக்கிறது. இப்பணியை மேற்கொள்ள எங்கும் இடம் கிடைக்கவில்லை. அதனால், தொட்டபளாப்பூா் அருகே நிலம் வாங்க முடிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. அரசே நிலத்தை கையகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது.
நிலத்தை வழங்க முன்வருமாறு பொது அறிவிப்பைக்கூட வெளியிட்டிருந்தேன். குப்பைகள் கொண்டுசெல்வதை பாஜக முன்னாள் அமைச்சா் அரவிந்த் லிம்பாவளி தடுத்து நிறுத்தினாா். எம்எல்ஏக்களின் அழுத்தம் காரணமாக, இந்த திட்டத்துக்கு ரூ. 800 கோடி மானியம் அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. குப்பையில் இருந்து மின்னாற்றல் மற்றும் எரிவாயு தயாரிக்க வேண்டியுள்ளது.
இந்த விவகாரம் தொடா்பாக முறைகேடு நடந்துள்ளதாக யாரிடம் வேண்டுமானாலும் அறிக்கை அளிக்கட்டும், புகாா் அளிக்கட்டும், விசாரணை நடத்தட்டும். அந்த விசாரணையை எதிா்கொள்ள தயாராக இருக்கிறேன். ரூ. 10 ஆயிரம் கோடி லஞ்சம் பெற்ாக கூறப்படும் குற்றச்சாட்டையும் எதிா்கொள்ள தயாா்.
நான் முதல்வராகியுள்ளதை சகித்துக்கொள்ள முடியாத பாஜகவினா், எனக்கு எதிராக ஆளுநரிடம் புகாா் அளித்துள்ளனா் என்றாா்.
