Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday (Oct. 13) criticized that Rahul Gandhi cannot gain the people’s trust by lying.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi about the India alliance’s protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, Amit Shah said:
''In a major state where you (the Congress) once were in power, you have failed to win even a single election in 41 years. This is something they need to seriously introspect about.
Recently, by-elections were held across the country in three states: West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry. I would like to inform the people of the country today that in the elections held in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, the Congress party did not win a single seat.
In Naukhan, the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate won by a margin of 1,42,000 votes; the BJP wrested this constituency from the Congress party.
In Nandigram, the BJP candidate won with 76% of the votes, securing a huge lead of 1,22,000 votes.
In West Bengal’s Rejinagar, the BJP won by a margin of more than 75,000 votes, wresting the seat from the Trinamool Congress.
Meanwhile, in Puducherry, the NDA candidate from the alliance partner N.R. Congress won by a margin of 8,482 votes; the Congress party secured only 22% of the votes.
The BJP also achieved a strong victory in the Rajasthan local body elections. It has captured 90% of the municipal corporations, 66% of the municipal councils, and 65% of the municipalities. This election has taught Rahul Gandhi a lesson.
In Rajasthan, 85% of Aam Aadmi Party candidates lost their deposits. In the rural elections held in Tripura, the BJP won 77.5% of the seats. The Congress party won only 14 seats.
I want to say one thing to Rahul Gandhi: the people of this country have fully understood your strategy of providing protection to infiltrators under the guise of SIR.
From now on, they will no longer be fooled by your tricks. I also want to tell Rahul and his associates to be prepared to face the crushing defeat that will occur in 2029.
In the 2029 general election, the National Democratic Alliance is set to win a huge majority. At the same time, the Congress party is going to face yet another defeat, that is, its fourth consecutive defeat,'' he said.
