A by-election is set to be held on the 6th in the Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies. With election campaigning coming to an end today, DMK leader M.K. Stalin campaigned yesterday (Oct. 3) in support of DMK candidate Paranthaman. Speaking at the campaign rally, he said, "Various horse-trading deals have taken place. Just a few days ago, even a minister shamelessly spoke here on stage, saying, ‘If the two MLAs who contested under the Rising Sun symbol had resigned and come over, they could have become ministers.’ But what does the Chief Minister say, pretending to be a great saint? He says, ‘There is no horse-trading, no donkey-trading.’ Let him choose the name that suits him best himself!"
Day after day, it has begun with mass killings, knife attacks, and sickle slashes. They are unable to control the movement of narcotics. They don’t even have the guts to protect those who give information about it! Sexual violence is happening as if it were commonplace. Half of the crimes taking place in Tamil Nadu involve TVK members. Instead of taking action against those who committed the wrongdoing, they expel the woman who filed the complaint from the party and provide police protection to the MLA accused of the charges. Is this the rule of the pure force? No, this is the force of sorrow!
There’s an even bigger list! Have they managed to find a solution to the power cut problem? A government is in power that can’t even properly supply Aavin milk for a newborn baby to drink. Taking advantage of the Aavin shortage, private milk companies have raised prices. Prices have shot up wildly.
Yesterday, when the Chief Minister came here for shooting, there was a shot in one scene of him drinking tea! After drinking that tea, he paid 500 rupees and left in style! But does he know how much people pay for a tea every day? Before he came to power, one tea was 10 rupees! Now it’s 15 rupees! Go ask about the price rise at a grocery store, bro, CM sir! The prices of rice, sugar, and vegetables have all gone up!

The cabinet that should be fixing all this — now they’ve come here and set up camp, making reels! In fear of defeat, they’ve all come here and are sitting around. Even to his own constituency, Perambur, the Chief Minister would have gone only once after winning. But to Madurantakam, he has come twice and is going street by street!
Those who are always in the position of Chief Minister usually don’t make a big fuss over by-elections. They hardly even campaign. That’s because they are confident that people will vote for them, trusting their governance and their schemes! So why is our Chief Minister so anxious now? He himself has no confidence in his own government.
He probably wouldn’t have even held ten meetings in total for campaigning in the 2026 general election. And even then, he wouldn’t have stepped down from the vehicle. For someone like that, look at the situation now, would you? In the Madurantakam constituency, the Chief Minister is going on a procession without missing even the narrowest lane where there isn’t a soul in sight. Only now, out of fear of defeat, has he set foot on the ground at tea shops and in the fields. I like your fear, CM sir!
He used to speak so often! He kept saying that even speaking for 5 minutes would make the whole world reel! Today, just to get votes in one constituency, he is doing all sorts of acrobatics. Tomorrow, they say he is going to go back to the Dharapuram constituency and put on a show from street to street. I went there yesterday and came back. As for the crowd, it was something else. It was the same there too—once he got on the stage, he couldn’t get down from it. He recently delivered a punch dialogue on a political stage; do you know what it was? “Life is a circle, man!” Yes, whether or not it suits anyone else, right now it suits him perfectly.
But let me tell you one thing! Remember this well... once the election is over, he won’t even look back at you. If you have any doubt, go ask the people of Perambur; they’ll tell you clearly.
When he came here to Madurantakam, he made another remark. “Why shouldn’t we come to power? Why shouldn’t all of us become Chief Minister?” he asked. You have already become Chief Minister, haven’t you? Don’t you still believe that? You are not the Chief Minister—become the Prime Minister as your astrologer says, or even the President of the United States! Go and solve the problems of the nations of the world! But before that, first try to solve the local power cut problem a little, CM sir... People suffer every day, CM sir! The power goes out even while your ministers are speaking; please pay attention to that first, sir...

While holding the Chief Minister’s post, what have you done for the people in these four months? Every day you post a reel as if you’re reviewing the schemes created by the DMK! Just saying this makes you boil over with anger. “Did you spend your own money? Isn’t it the people’s money?” he asks.
I’m asking... We say Karikalan built the Kallanai. We read that Rajaraja Chola built the great Thanjavur temple. We say that Perunthalaivar Kamarajar built dams and schools! Did they all do it with their own money, CM sir? Will you ask them the same question too? Are you insulting them as well? And now you’ve put on a gold ring—was that with your money? Some fools even believe that too. To curb the arrogance of these frauds, the people of Madurantakam must hand them a crushing defeat as a gift. Only then will they mend their ways. These Reels fanatics need a reality check.
Next, he says something else too... “If you think you can topple the government by underhanded means, it won’t happen,” the Chief Minister tells himself to comfort himself. Cheap Minister Sir, from now on I will call him the Cheap Minister. Because he himself has fallen to a lower level. Going by underhanded means, stealing MLAs, kidnapping an AMMK member and obtaining a letter of support—these are your ideas! We do not need underhanded means to topple your government. There is nothing like that in our history! The people will bring your government to an end by the straight path!
It is the TVK that has come to power through a shortcut. On one hand, you have even given ministerial positions to the parties that won in the DMK alliance. On the other hand, you are buying over AIADMK members who won in the BJP alliance. This is the shortcut! To put it more plainly, it is the thieving way! It seems the Chief Minister thinks everyone is like him...
What I would say to the Chief Minister is this: set aside your devious thinking and try to do good for the people in a straightforward way. Thinking that you would never win anyway, you made all sorts of wild promises in your election manifesto! Have you at least fully fulfilled some of those promises, instead of only half-heartedly? First, read the reports in the newspapers about all the mistakes happening under your rule!
Money was collected through a “rate card” for the government advocate post, with so many lakhs fixed for this responsibility, and the collection was done from the party’s own lawyers. A woman lawyer from the Scheduled Caste community belonging to the TVK filed a case in the High Court regarding this. Do you know what this “pure force” did? He expelled the woman who brought the corruption to light from the party.
In Ranipettai, a woman from that party openly made all the complaints against the TVK district secretary that I cannot say on this stage. Above all, she said that in a public place, a minister powdered a tablet and, “I don’t know; I only came to know after seeing it on TV. Please don’t misunderstand me,” posted a reel about it, and told stories about setting up a cover-up to handle it. He is still in the cabinet too. You have kept the whole criminal gang together— is this what a pure force government is?
And as if that were not enough, what are you doing now? You’re putting all the former AIADMK ministers caught in corruption cases into your washing machine and whitewashing them—do you call that pure power? Or is pure power governance canceling the Parandur airport project? You’re trying to hand over Chennai airport to private interests, and you even secretly covered up the letter written to the Prime Minister for that purpose—do you call that pure power? They are working out a mafia plan to keep this government under their control and divert investments to Andhra Pradesh.
Honourable Chief Minister, you alone keep saying this is a people’s government. In reality, this is a mysterious rule. Under someone’s control, a corporate mafia rule is being run here for someone’s benefit. There is no transparency in anything. Everything is happening behind the scenes.
Except for the BJP and its alliance parties, everyone in India has been talking about removing Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar from office. Yesterday, massive protests took place across India, in Mumbai, Delhi, and everywhere else. But has Chief Minister Vijay said even a word about this? The voting rights of 130 million people have been taken away. A huge act of treason has taken place. Election results have been stolen in several states. Can someone who does not even speak up about this be called a political leader? Even the leaders of the parties in his alliance are asking this.
Just wait and see; as time goes on, their mask will be completely torn off. Everyone will come to know who they are in secret alliance with in Delhi. Those who trusted them and went along with them will also be left stranded.
During the last 5 years of DMK rule, we spoke up without fear for the rights of the state and for democratic rights. Not only that, Tamil Nadu performed exceptionally well in controlling price rises and in increasing GST revenue, the best in India. Now, in everything, we are moving in reverse gear. After running such a disgraceful government, they are shamelessly coming to ask for votes.
The people must be cautious from now on. You were deceived once. You believed the promise of change, but what you got was only disappointment.
This Madurantakam constituency is full of villages! I know how important the hundred-day employment scheme is to your family’s economy. Under our Dravidian model government, that scheme was implemented best in Tamil Nadu, more than anywhere else in India. We did it despite the obstacles created by the Union government. But today, there is neither proper work nor wages being paid. They must be given fitting punishment for all that!
Think about it! Over the past 5 years of Dravidian model governance, we have given you numerous schemes. We deepened the Madurantakam lake at a cost of 120 crore and increased its capacity. In the rural areas of the constituency, we laid quality roads under the village road improvement scheme. We also improved water bodies such as Udhayanakulam and Vannanakulam. Under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme, only in this constituency, 54,836 people have been benefiting up to this month. The breakfast scheme, Pudhumai Penn, Tamil Pudhalvan—up to now, it is our Dravidian model government's schemes that are benefiting the people.
Keeping all this in mind, you must vote. The whole of Tamil Nadu is waiting for your verdict! Whether horse-trading will happen in other constituencies or not will be decided by the punishment you give!
Therefore, use your votes not just for the benefit of your constituency, but for the benefit of the people of Tamil Nadu. Your vote should not go again to those who take a box from the ruling party and sell themselves for a price! A big shock treatment must be given to the Chief Minister who wants to turn cinematic glamour into political capital, prove a majority through horse-trading, and divert the people while passing time.
At the Dharapuram campaign rally, Chief Minister Vijay openly said something, thinking it was a mind voice. Know what? He complained, “These DMK people have forgotten that they are out of power, yet they still talk like the ruling party.” True, brother! That swagger is the DMK man’s inborn trait. When a problem arose, you shut the party office, switched off all the cell phones, and the whole party went underground for a month; we are not such cowards.
What did the Chennai High Court itself say on this very day last year? They said that Vijay, who ran away without even meeting the families of the 41 people who died and offering them comfort, had no leadership qualities at all! Did you think the DMK was made up of cowards like you? Win or lose, we stand proudly in the field with the people, wearing our party’s shawl, fighting for the people alongside the people!
You’re making mocking remarks saying Stalin lost in Kolathur just because you campaigned for 5 minutes? I ask you... you sang songs in Karur, so why didn’t you win? You held a conference in Viluppuram and even named it V. Salai, so why didn’t you win there? You went to Kanyakumari, so what was the situation there? You didn’t even win a single seat! You went to Thiruvarur and spoke lies after lies, so what happened there? The truth is, in most of the places where Vijay campaigned for a long time, TVK suffered a crushing defeat. That is the reality! Madurantakam should also be added to that list!
If the people raise an issue, answer for it responsibly as Chief Minister. Complaining on every stage, “DMK, DMK, DMK, DMK, DMK” will not solve the people’s problems. The people did not vote for you for that either. The more you think of the people with contempt, the more certain it is that you will be destroyed by that very arrogance!
What I have to say to the people of Madurantakam is only this! The vote cast for TVK in this by-election is a vote for anarchy and arrogance. A vote for irregularities. A vote for money power! Let the people of Madurantakam not forget this. Drive away the traitors!
Vote for the rising sun symbol for our dear brother Paranthaman, the DMK candidate who is true to the ideology he has embraced and to you, the voters! He will stand by you. He will not run away like the others. Those who betray the people who voted for them should not go to the Assembly! The people of Madurantakam should not let them go.
The people of Madurantakam and the people of Dharapuram must ensure this by voting for the rising sun, the symbol of victory seen by Perarignar Anna and Muthமிழறிஞர் Kalaignar! October 6! May it be a day that puts an end to arrogance and betrayal! I take leave, asking that the rising sun prevail," he said.
