Reliance said in a statement released on Friday that it has never been afraid of competition.
Elon Musk, one of the world’s richest people, runs SpaceX and X. His company Starlink provides internet services via satellite to places where there is no mobile phone signal.
While Starlink has received initial approval to provide satellite internet services in India, the company is working to complete the process quickly.
In this context, Elon Musk, who first accused the wealthy elite of blocking the Starlink project in India, later posted directly naming Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani.
In that post, he had made the controversial remark: “Dear Prime Minister Ambani, please accept my heartfelt apology for not realizing that you are India’s true leader. You want to carry out your monopoly exploitation of the Indian people; however, would you consider allowing Starlink (Starlink) to compete?”
In response to this matter, the Ministry of Communications issued a statement explaining that “these allegations are baseless and false.”
In this situation, a statement was released on Friday morning on behalf of Reliance.
It stated:
“Recent comments have been made regarding Reliance and the Indian market. We would like to clarify the facts related to this.
Like all other companies in India, Reliance welcomes investments and innovations, whether domestic or international, that improve people’s lives.
As specified by the Government of India, the same procedure is followed for all applicants, whether they are Indian companies or foreign companies. Approvals for Jio’s satellite services are also still pending.
Reliance has never been afraid of competition. We see competition as the real benchmark for determining who provides the best service to customers.
In 2016, in the highly competitive Indian telecom market, Jio entered as a new company with not a single customer. In just ten years, Jio has earned the trust of more than 530 million customers and provides Indians with the world’s best digital infrastructure and data services at the most affordable prices.
We welcome the competition in the satellite communications sector, including Starlink. All companies, including Jio, should serve the people of India; at the same time, they must operate in accordance with India’s laws and policies,” it said.
