The Congress-led UDF alliance is in power in Kerala. Barely a few months after forming the government, dissatisfaction within the party has begun to erupt openly.
Congress-led UDF alliance coordinator Adoor Prakash has publicly expressed his dissatisfaction for the first time.
Just days after the UDF government was formed, he raised the allegation that the Chief Minister does not consult alliance leaders on administrative decisions.
Regarding this, UDF coordinator Adoor Prakash told reporters, "Whether it is as the chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission or as the government's special representative in Delhi, I, as the alliance coordinator, knew nothing about these appointments.
I am in the unfortunate position of having to learn everything, like everyone else, only by reading media reports. The two people who have been given Cabinet rank are indeed qualified, and I am not criticizing them. But how were these decisions taken without the UDF alliance knowing about them?
It was decided a month and a half ago that matters such as boards and party posts could be discussed and decided within the alliance. But no talks have taken place. I do not want to use the word that the Chief Minister is 'hijacking' the alliance. However, in a democracy, collective consultation is absolutely essential.
The All India Congress leadership appointed me to this coordinator post. Therefore, I am going to inform the Delhi high command in writing about everything that is happening. The helicopter and air travel of the Chief Minister and ministers should be transparent so that the public can be given an explanation," he said.

This allegation by UDF coordinator Adoor Prakash against Congress Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan created a stir within the party.
In response to this, Devaswom Department Minister K. Muraleedharan said, "Adoor Prakash is a senior leader of our party. However, he should not have spoken about such internal matters in public and fed the media.
Government administration is an urgent process. In the interest of the people and for the sake of administrative speed, the Chief Minister may be in a situation where he has to take certain decisions quickly. That does not mean he does not respect the alliance or that he is acting in an authoritarian manner.

The government has certain limits. Adoor Prakash himself has acknowledged that everyone appointed is competent. In that case, it is not good for the party or the alliance to magnify minor procedural lapses and create controversies right at the beginning of the government’s tenure.
If he had any differences of opinion, he should have discussed and resolved them within the leadership and the cabinet. Instead, holding a press conference and arming the opposing side is not appropriate. Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan is moving ahead by embracing everyone. There is no ambiguity in this,” he said.
