New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the UPSC serves as a very important pillar in building a developed India.
The Public Service Commission was established on October 1, 1926, during the British rule. After the country gained independence, this body was renamed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in 1950.
Accordingly, the 100th anniversary of the UPSC was celebrated yesterday. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the event held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi. Speaking there, he said: We are now celebrating the 100th anniversary of the UPSC.
The UPSC is fulfilling the dreams of millions of Indians. People have unwavering faith in this institution. Competitive examinations should be conducted without delay in the interest of students. Examination procedures should be reformed in line with the times.
According to 1952 statistics, only 3 percent of the civil service were women. At present, 30 percent of the civil service are women. So far, 4 women have held the top position in the UPSC. Compared with the past, the number of people taking the UPSC exam has increased by up to 45 percent.
We have crossed a quarter of the current 21st century. The next 25 years are very important. We must build a developed India by 2047. For that, people from all walks of life must unite and work tirelessly.
Government employees selected through the UPSC must work with the nation’s welfare and the people’s welfare in mind. They must improve people’s quality of life. The UPSC selects capable government employees across the country.
Through this, the organization plays a very important role in building a developed India. People do not want to wait for weeks to receive government services.
In today’s context, artificial intelligence technology analyzes and provides thousands of data points within minutes.
Therefore, government departments should fully use artificial intelligence technology and provide services to the public quickly.
At the same time, various challenges have also emerged through artificial intelligence technology, including the spread of fake videos, photographs, and fake news. These challenges too must be effectively addressed.
The UPSC examines the intellectual ability of young people and selects them for government service. Along with that, the UPSC must also determine the purpose for which they are entering government service.
It is very important to determine whether they have an interest in public service. The central government functions on the principle that the voice of the people is the voice of God.
Serving the people should be the foremost duty of government employees. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this.
