Chennai: The alliance led by TVK has been named the “Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.”
The second consultation meeting of the parties supporting TVK was held today in Panaiyur. The meeting, held at the Panaiyur office under the leadership of TVK leader and Chief Minister Vijay, was attended by Congress, VCK, IUML, and MDMK.
In this consultation meeting, which lasted for more than an hour, Chief Minister Vijay discussed various matters with the leaders of the alliance parties. It is said that the meeting discussed the alliance’s name, the selection of a coordinator, and the formation of a coordination committee.
With by-elections having now been announced for 2 constituencies, it has also been reported that this was discussed in the meeting.
Following today’s consultation with alliance parties, it has been officially announced that the alliance led by TVK has been named the ‘Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.’
The Communist Party of India and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), which did not take part in the previous consultation meeting, were again invited in person this time as well. However, it is noteworthy that the Communist parties stated that they did not participate this time either in the meeting with the supporting parties led by TVK.
What did Manickam Tagore say?
Speaking to reporters after the consultation meeting of the TVK alliance parties, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president Manickam Tagore said, “At today’s consultation meeting, our alliance was named the ‘Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance.’ This will be a very strong alliance. The candidates of the ‘Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance’ for the upcoming by-elections in the 2 constituencies will be announced tomorrow.
This alliance has been formed for the benefit of Tamil Nadu on the basis of social justice and secularism. We are supporting this alliance so that honest governance continues in Tamil Nadu. We unanimously accepted Chief Minister Vijay as the leader of the ‘Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance’. Under his coordination, we have formed this alliance. This alliance will function under Vijay’s leadership in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
“The ‘Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance’ is part of the INDIA alliance. The INDIA alliance was formed for the Lok Sabha elections. When the Lok Sabha elections are announced in 2029, the INDIA alliance’s prime ministerial candidate will be announced. At that time, Chief Minister Vijay will campaign for the INDIA alliance’s prime ministerial candidate.
Rahul Gandhi is the Congress party’s prime ministerial candidate. At the same time, the INDIA alliance’s prime ministerial candidate will be decided by the parties in that alliance. The ‘Secular Social Justice Victory Alliance’ will accept the INDIA alliance candidate,” he said.
