New Delhi: Speaking at the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ event held to mark the completion of 25 years in government leadership, Prime Minister Modi said, “Those who opposed me taught me the strength of democracy.”
Narendra Modi first assumed office as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001. He then served as Gujarat Chief Minister for 13 years, and on May 26, 2014, he took office as the country’s Prime Minister. As of yesterday, he completed 25 years in government leadership. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi attended the ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ event held in Delhi. When he came onto the stage, people welcomed him by showering flowers on him and chanting, ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai.’
Speaking at this event, Prime Minister Modi said: Today, I have completed 25 years of continuous service as the head of government. This is the blessing of the people. I bow to the people of the nation. On October 7, 2001, when I took office as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, I had never even imagined that this milestone would be achieved. My prayer is that the Almighty should grant me the strength and ability to serve my country with even greater energy.
The trust of hundreds of millions of people across the country, and the tireless work of millions of party workers, have been my greatest strength. Those who stood by me showed the power of trust. Even those who opposed me taught me the strength of democracy.
Viksit Bharat by 2047
By 2047, we will achieve Viksit Bharat, Atmanirbhar Bharat, become a global manufacturing hub, host the Olympics, and set foot in space. I have lived not for my personal ambitions, but for our nation. I have never felt lonely. There are countless national volunteers who are the guardians of India’s cultural soul.
One of the great tragedies our country has faced is that society was divided on the basis of votes for political reasons. If the problem is common to everyone, then the solution must also be common to everyone. Full governance means that no one who is eligible is left out, and no one is denied the benefits that are rightfully theirs. That is the true story of change. Narendra Modi spoke in this way.
