DMK MP Kanimozhi has alleged that the government has taken no action to prevent crimes under the current administration in Tamil Nadu. Speaking to reporters at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai on this matter, she said, ``A one-year-old child who went missing in Ranipet has still not been found, and the situation continues in which there is no clue as to what happened to the child. In Thirunagalur, Madurantakam, where the by-election has concluded, a woman was found dead after being slit at the throat.

In the Tiruvannamalai area, a 12-year-old boy went missing and was later found dead. In Thoothukudi, a gang that broke into a house with the intention of abducting the women sleeping inside killed the mother by slashing her. They also attacked the father and severely assaulted a 10-year-old boy, leaving him fighting for his life. Similarly, in Gingee too, a series of back-to-back incidents has created a situation where it is unclear what is happening there.
Since coming to power, ruling party functionaries have been directly involved in various murder incidents, criminal acts, and sexual violence. With the arrogance and brazenness of thinking, “No matter what crime we commit, even if we commit injustices against children, this regime will protect us,” they have been engaging in crimes. Those in power, instead of focusing on rescuing or protecting the victims, are intensely focused only on shielding the criminals. Earlier, before coming to power, he asked questions like, “Law and order has deteriorated in Tamil Nadu; is this a country or a jungle?” and promised, “If I come to power, I will change everything.”

But the same question that was asked then still remains today... That is why the DMK leader has asked the same question now as well. On the government’s behalf, 'Thaimaman Seer' schemes are being announced. But the uncle who is supposed to protect us cannot be found. It is not even known whether he is sleeping. First, he must be made to believe that he is in charge of the government. The government must immediately take steps to protect the people, especially children.
In the present situation, people are living with the fear that there is danger if they step out of the house, and danger even if they stay inside the house. This regime has turned into moments of 'thik thik' for the entire people of Tamil Nadu," he said.
