Guwahati: A man from Rajasthan has accused his wife and mother-in-law of pressuring him to convert to Islam and of circumcising him against his will.
Akhil Kumar Chandak, from Rajasthan, is a Hindu. He married Noorshika Begum, who is a Muslim. In this situation, his wife and mother-in-law allegedly forced Kumar to convert to Islam and circumcised him against his wishes.
In connection with this, based on the complaint filed by Kumar, his mother-in-law Noorkatoon has been arrested. The police have summoned his wife, Noorshika Begum, who is in Bengaluru, to appear for questioning.
Regarding this, Akhil Kumar Sandak said: We got married in 2019. We lived together for about three years. Initially, there were no differences of opinion between us regarding religion. Later, they began pressuring me to convert to another religion.
About 6 months ago, following a dispute between us, my wife went back to her village. After that, my mother-in-law called me, saying we could discuss and resolve the family issue. Accordingly, when I went to the Jalukbari area, two unidentified people took me away in a vehicle.
Inside the vehicle, I was given something mixed with drugs. After eating it and becoming unconscious, I was circumcised. Furthermore, even though I refused, they forced me to eat beef. After that, I filed a complaint with the police," he said.
