Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar should resign... The INDIA alliance has been continuing its protests and voices of opposition, saying that irregularities have taken place in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
As part of this, yesterday Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi had organized a tea party and a press meet at his residence in Delhi with INDIA alliance leaders.
After the tea party ended, the INDIA alliance leaders said at the press meet...

Beyond the ED and CBI, 10 feet higher...
Rashtriya Janata Dal's Tejashwi Yadav:
“We have all come together to save democracy. Whatever sacrifice is needed for this, we will all make it together.
Beyond those who keep trying to capture the country’s constitutional institutions such as the Enforcement Directorate, the CBI, or the Income Tax Department, the Election Commission and Gyanesh have gone 10 steps further.”
If Jantar Mantar is also banned, where are we supposed to go?
Communist Party of India (CPI) All India General Secretary D. Raja:
“Delhi is the capital of the country, Delhi is our city. But barricades have been put up everywhere, and people are not being allowed to move freely.
They say they are doing this because of the protests. Yes, protests will happen; you cannot suppress or crush them. Now the government has removed Jantar Mantar from the protest venue.

We strongly condemn this. Jantar Mantar must continue to remain a place for people’s protests. Because earlier we held a protest at Rajpath. That was banned.
We held a protest on Parliament Street. That too was banned. Now it is Jantar Mantar. Then where are the people of the national capital supposed to go?
Therefore, we strongly condemn the removal of Jantar Mantar from the list of protest sites. We will fight to restore Jantar Mantar as a place for people’s protests.”
What is happening now in West Bengal is an unlawful government...
Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament Sagarika Ghose:
“The Trinamool Congress has been consistently pointing out that SIR is designed only to remove names and rig elections.
The current West Bengal government is an illegitimate government. It is in power only through vote theft. You see how protests were suppressed in Delhi... how protests were crushed in West Bengal.
The Election Commission is not fair. Stop SIR. Go back to the old list. Gyanesh Kumar should be dismissed.”

Gyanesh Kumar is a mafia
Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena:
“Gyanesh Kumar is a mafia. For 10–12 years, Modi and Shah have kept this country under threat and fear. Now it is their turn to be afraid.
Now they have stationed 400,000 armed forces here and are sitting inside in fear.”
Rahul Gandhi:
“There are no separate struggles here. There is only one struggle. That struggle has only one purpose. It is to restore democracy in India.
Democracy in this country has been destroyed. The electoral system has been ruined. The Constitution has been torn up and thrown away.
You cannot simply destroy the Indian Constitution and get away with it. What you saw yesterday (October 12) was not just the expression of the political parties standing here. It was the expression of the people of India.”
