New Delhi: Instead of introspecting about its electoral defeats, the Congress party is questioning the credibility of the constitutional body, the Election Commission, Smriti Irani said, criticizing it.
Speaking to reporters at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, BJP national general secretary Smriti Irani said, “Criticize me; attack me. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly said, do not allow these attacks to turn into attacks on Indian constitutional institutions and on India’s democracy.
However, the Congress leadership is taking every step to undermine India’s constitutional framework.
The Election Commission has already issued an official clarification regarding the work of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) going door to door to verify and remove duplicate entries and the names of deceased persons through the special intensive revision of the voter list.
Is Congress saying that duplicate names or the names of deceased persons should not be removed from the voter list? If so, why does Congress want this?
States such as Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Kerala, and Karnataka have governments that are not led by the BJP. Does Congress hold the same position there as well?

Earlier, a resolution was passed at today’s Congress Working Committee meeting demanding that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar be removed from office for responsibility for vote theft, and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah resign.
In the resolution passed at this meeting, held under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, it was stated that the Chief Election Commissioner taking decisions regarding the Election Commission without properly consulting the other election commissioners has increased concerns about the credibility of the election.
Both election commissioners have raised 14 objections in 10 months, alleging that unauthorized and illegal changes were made to Form 6 used during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. This shows a tendency to exceed institutional authority.
Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, who has lost all moral and institutional authority, should be immediately removed from office.
The 13.3 crore names removed from the voter list should be immediately reinstated.
It is noteworthy that it was stated, “Brazen vote theft has been orchestrated by the Chief Election Commissioner for the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. Nothing other than their resignation will ensure the safety of our democracy.”
