Sonia Gandhi, in her Instagram post, said, “Here is the first look at the book A Journey of Love. It is a story about love, duty, loss, and finding one’s place. I am excited to share it with you.”
Meanwhile, she has released a video about the memories associated with the photographs featured in her book. In the two-minute video, she recalls her early days spent in Cambridge, England.
“My journey of love began in a small Greek restaurant in Cambridge. Rajiv and I created a world filled with love, happiness, and memories. I will share that world with you on November 10,” Sonia Gandhi said.
Recalling her first meeting with Rajiv Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi said, “I found that restaurant while looking for a place that served my favorite foods, especially Italian food. It was a Greek restaurant (Varsity Restaurant). Not only European students, but Indian students also came there to eat. It was at that restaurant that I first met Rajiv.
The very first time I met him, my heart wanted to be with him. I later found out that he felt the same way too. We were introduced through a mutual friend. After that, we became friends. We did many things together, like going to parties with friends and visiting places. Once, we even went to a Valentine’s Day party attended by a large number of students.
He had a very gentle appearance. It is true that he looked very handsome. But it was his gentle nature that attracted me the most. It touched my heart. That is why I can never forget the moment I first met him,” she said.
