Chennai: Traffic police will conduct vehicle checks across Chennai at the same time and take action against drivers who violate the rules.
In order to improve road safety in the Chennai metropolitan area, today (Saturday) is being observed as “Zero Tolerance Day” against traffic violations.
Accordingly, special checks will be carried out on all major roads and main roads in the Chennai metropolitan area.
It has been stated that cases will be registered and action taken against drivers who violate traffic rules.
In this regard, the Chennai Traffic Police said in a press release issued yesterday: All members of the public must strictly follow traffic rules.
They must obey traffic signals. Those traveling on two-wheelers must wear helmets without fail.
Passengers in four-wheelers must wear seat belts. In addition, they should avoid driving vehicles at high speed and in a dangerous manner.
Mobile phones should not be used while driving. Strict action will be taken against those who engage in such violations.
Preventing road accidents and ensuring safe travel are the traffic police’s main objectives. Human life is priceless.
Therefore, the public should properly follow traffic rules and extend full cooperation to the traffic police so that the ‘No Violations Day’ initiative can be successful. This is what the traffic police have said.
