The project was launched under the DMK government, and today (October 16), under the TVK government, the Periyar Arivulagam in Coimbatore has been inaugurated.
The DMK claims ownership of the project, saying that it was the DMK that initiated it.
However, TVK rejects the DMK’s “sticker” allegation, saying, “This is not the thought and labor of a single individual.”
Responding to TVK’s denial, former Industries Minister T.R.B. Raja wrote on his X page, “Ribbon cutting is easy... Institution-building?!…
That requires a different level of leadership.

Just looking up in amusement...
It is easy to cut a ribbon to inaugurate a completed building.
But the true mark of visionary leadership is to imagine, plan, allocate funds for, and build an institution that shapes the knowledge of a generation.
That is why the heights reached by Dravidian leader Stalin’s government can only be looked up at in amazement by today’s sticker-model government.
Hub and Spoke Model
Continuing the intellectual legacy of the Anna Centenary Library created by Kalaignar in Chennai, Leader Stalin expanded the framework for Tamil Nadu’s intellectual growth to Madurai, Tiruchi, and Coimbatore.
Leader Kalaignar established small libraries in every village. Leader Stalin made library services available to everyone at all levels through a hub-and-spoke model.
The Coimbatore Periyar Knowledge Center was a project announced under the DMK government, with funds allocated, the foundation stone laid, and construction carried out. Today, another government may inaugurate it.
Ribbon-cutting is easy. Institution-building?!… That requires a different level of leadership. #CMMKStalin level LEADERSHIP. ♥️ Cutting a ribbon to open a completed building is easy. But imagining, planning, allocating funds for, and building an institution that shapes a generation’s knowledge is the mark of truly visionary leadership. That is why the heights reached by the rule of #திராவிடநாயகன் @mkstalin can only be looked up at in admiration by today’s sticker-model government. Continuing the intellectual legacy of the Anna Centenary Library created by Kalaignar in Chennai, Leader #CMMKStalin expanded the framework for Tamil Nadu’s intellectual growth in Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore. Leader Kalaignar created small libraries in every village. Leader Stalin made libraries accessible to everyone at all levels through a hub and spoke model. ♥️ The Periyar Knowledge Center in Coimbatore is a project announced, funded, laid with a foundation stone, and built under the #DMK government. Today another government may open it. But will they create even one intellectual institution of this scale? The #TVK government must understand this: There is dignity in acknowledging the work of those who came before and worked hard. Leadership is strengthened, not diminished, by giving credit where it is due. #PeriyarLibrary #DMK

By giving recognition and appreciation...
But will they create even one intellectual institution of this same scale?
The TVK government must understand one thing. There is dignity in recognizing the work of those who came before us and worked hard.
“The strength of leadership will only increase, never decrease, by giving due recognition and appreciation to those who deserve it,” he posted.
